When he isn’t racing around the office or proving Accio’s software is the fastest, Barry Boes is proving he’s the fastest on the track as well.
This weekend, he upset the field by taking the overall win in the big bore group and first place in the GT-2 class of the Hoosier SCCA Super Tour’s stop at the Circuit of the Americas. This was his first race with SCCA and his first race in the Sampson powered No. 31 ARX Motorsports/Accio Data Ford Mustang.
“We had a tough decision to make,” Boes said. “We knew the track was probably going to be drying out. We went out on wet tires, we made some suspension changes, and it just worked like magic. After the track started to dry out, I had to slow down the pace a little bit. The tires were getting squirmy.” He nonetheless managed to lap most of the field, including the GT1 cars sitting P1 and P2 (Boes started P3).
The Hoosier Super Tour is a gateway to the SCCA National Championship Runoffs being held in 2019 at Virginia International Raceway. Barry’s next pit stop will be March 30-31 at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Jennings, Oklahoma.
You will also find him on the Trans Am pro tour racing the Sampson powered #32 ARX Motorsports/Accio Data Ford Mustang in the TA2 class. You can see him at the season opener at Sebring March 1-3.
